
A Victor, NY teacher has been arrested and charged with third degree r*pe of a minor. 66-year-old David Porter, a Victor High School teacher is accused of engaging with intercourse with a person less than seventeen years old. The alleged incident occurred in December, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, who carried out a joint investigation with the Ontario County District Attorney’s Office and Ontario County Child Protective Services.
Porter was arraigned before Ontario County CAP Court on Saturday, March 1 and was released on self-recognizance bail. He’s due back in court Tuesday. The court issued an order of protection on behalf of the victim. Victor CSD confirmed the victim is a student but not a current student of Porter’s.
The District alos revealed in a statement signed by Superintendent Tim Terranova that Porter was placed on leave immediately they were notified of the investigation and that the District immediately sought for an interim and immediate suspension of his teaching certificate. Victor CSD said it was cooperating fully with the investigation and that the “safety and well being of our school community is of the highest importance,” Authorities have asked anyone with information to contact Investigator Dylan LaBrake at (585) 394-4560.
