Bech, who was struck by the suspect’s truck, suffered catastrophic internal injuries and was taken to a New Orleans hospital. Despite medical efforts, he passed away late Wednesday morning after being kept on life support until his family could be present.
Known for his athleticism and versatility, Bech played multiple positions, including wide receiver, quarterback, defensive back, and punt returner, during his time at STM. Following high school, Bech continued his football career at Princeton University, where he excelled as a wide receiver. Over his three seasons with the Tigers, he recorded 53 receptions for 825 yards and three touchdowns. Bech graduated from Princeton in 2021 with a degree in finance and had been working as a trader at a New York brokerage firm.
