Danger on the street. Blue flasher on the police car at night.
A fatal motorcycle crash in Lindenwold, New Jersey, claimed the life of 28-year-old Thomas Lista of Stratford and left another rider injured. The tragic accident occurred around 6:36 p.m. on New Freedom Road, where both motorcyclists lost control and veered off the roadway.
When authorities arrived, they found Lista approximately 50 feet from the road. Medical responders pronounced him dead at the scene. The second motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to the injured rider, both he and Lista lost control of their motorcycles at nearly the same time. The second rider’s motorcycle left the road first, and shortly afterward, Lista’s bike veered off as well. It remains unclear what caused the riders to lose control in the moments leading up to the crash.
Police determined that both motorcyclists were traveling north on New Freedom Road when the crash occurred. They veered off the roadway near the 100 block, though investigators have yet to confirm whether the accident was influenced by road conditions, speed, or other factors.
Lindenwold police, in collaboration with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, are conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident. As of now, no additional information about the potential causes of the crash has been released. Authorities are urging anyone with knowledge of the accident to come forward.
This tragic event has left the community mourning the loss of Lista while raising concerns about motorcycle safety. As investigations continue, officials remind riders to exercise caution on the roads and encourage drivers to remain vigilant to help prevent such devastating accidents.
