
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse Police have confirmed the arrest of 43-year-old David Huff, the suspect wanted in connection with the double homicide on Roney Road.
Huff was taken into custody around 9:30 a.m. in the area of West Seneca Turnpike and South Avenue, authorities announced.
According to Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick, Huff is suspected of fatally shooting a 33-year-old woman with whom he had a romantic relationship and his 11-year-old child.
Officers responded to the 100 block of Roney Road around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, March 17, following reports of a shooting with injuries.
Upon arrival, police discovered the two victims had suffered fatal gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
After the shooting, Syracuse Police launched a search for Huff, describing him as a white male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with brown hair and a beard.
He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident.
Authorities tracked Huff down to West Seneca Turnpike and South Avenue, where he was apprehended without further incident.
The investigation remains active, and law enforcement officials continue to gather evidence surrounding the circumstances of the homicides.
