
FOREST HILL, Texas – Newly released surveillance footage captures the harrowing final moments of Fort Worth rapper Ronnie “Lil Ronnie” Smith and his 5-year-old daughter, R’Mani, who were fatally shot at Slappy’s Express Car Wash on Monday, March 3, 2025.
The video reveals that the attack began when two armed suspects exited a white four-door Kia and opened fire on Smith’s vehicle while he was cleaning his car.
FOREST HILL, Texas – Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Monday morning at Slappy’s Express Car Wash on Forest Hill Drive, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. A family member at the scene identified the victims as North Texas rapper G$ Lil Ronnie, also known as Lil Ronnie “Chuckie” Smith, and his 5-year-old daughter.
In a desperate attempt to escape, Smith fled towards a nearby trash can, but the suspects pursued him and continued shooting at close range.
Authorities believe R’Mani was likely struck and killed in the initial volley of gunfire.
Both Smith and his daughter succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The Forest Hill Police Department has since identified one suspect and obtained a capital murder warrant, though the individual’s identity has not yet been made public.
Authorities continue to search for all parties involved as the investigation remains active.
Family members, including Smith’s aunt, Stella Houston, have expressed deep grief and disbelief over the attack, emphasizing that Smith was a devoted family man with no known enemies.
R’Mani had just celebrated her fifth birthday the day before the shooting, making the tragedy even more devastating for loved ones.
This double homicide marks the fourth and fifth murders in Forest Hill this year, a stark increase from zero homicides in 2024.
The uptick in gun violence has sparked growing concerns among residents and local officials.
