
Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the victim of a fatal crash involving a school bus in Brown County on Sunday evening. The collision, which occurred at the intersection of SR-32 and Sardinia Mowrystown Road in Washington Township, claimed the life of 47-year-old Shawn Wisby of Georgetown and left two students with minor injuries.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:38 p.m. when Wisby’s Mazda SUV, traveling eastbound on SR-32, veered off the left side of the road, crossed the median, and collided head-on with a westbound International school bus. The bus was driven by 46-year-old Julie Ann Williamson of Mt. Orab.
Tragically, Wisby was not wearing a seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene despite the efforts of first responders. The two students aboard the school bus were transported to Mt. Orab Mercy Hospital with minor injuries and are expected to recover.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is actively investigating the cause of the crash, including the factors that led to Wisby’s loss of control. Authorities have not yet determined if impairment, distraction, or other circumstances contributed to the incident.
