
A fatal shooting outside a motorcycle club in west Louisville claimed the life of 21-year-old Michael Lamont Bass II on New Year’s Eve, marking the city’s first homicide of 2025. The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) is leading the investigation into the tragic incident.
The shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. on December 31, 2024, near the No Haterz Motorcycle Club on South 36th Street in the Chickasaw neighborhood. Police responded to reports of gunfire but were informed en route that individuals were already transporting the victim to UofL Hospital for emergency care.
Bass, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, underwent surgery upon arrival at the hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after midnight on January 1, 2025. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his identity.
The LMPD Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. However, as of now, no suspects have been identified, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.
