The Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is actively investigating a domestic-related shooting that occurred in the city of Truman on February 27, 2025, at approximately 6:14 p.m.
Deputies responded to a domestic assault report where an adult female victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest from a pistol.
Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to a hospital for treatment. Her condition has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities have identified the suspect as Kyle Jonathan Liford (DOB: 08/31/1992).
He is believed to be operating a green 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe with Minnesota license plate NVU 782.
At this time, Liford’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Deputies secured a firearm at the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.
Based on preliminary findings, this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the public at this time.
