
FROSTPROOF, FL – A tragic accident on Sunday evening claimed the life of 37-year-old motorcyclist Kevin Loring. The crash occurred around 6 p.m. on U.S. 27 near Charles Street, just outside the town of Frostproof, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities report that the collision happened when a van, stopped at a stop sign, turned left onto U.S. 27, directly into the path of Loring’s motorcycle. Unable to avoid the van, Loring collided with the vehicle and was thrown from his bike. Despite the rapid arrival of emergency responders, Loring was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van, a 48-year-old woman, was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. Officials have not disclosed her identity, but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
