SHELBY COUNTY, OH – A devastating two-vehicle collision on Friday, November 22, claimed the life of a young man and left two others injured, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. The crash occurred at the intersection of Ft. Loramie Swanders and Kuther roads, highlighting the risks at rural crossroads.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the crash was caused by a 2006 Chevy Cobalt that failed to stop at a posted stop sign, colliding with a 2020 Honda Pilot traveling through the intersection.
The driver of the Chevy Cobalt, identified as 21-year-old Enrique Loaiza of Sidney, sustained critical injuries and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital. Despite the efforts of emergency medical teams, Loaiza succumbed to his injuries later that day.
The driver and passenger of the Honda Pilot, whose identities have not been released, suffered injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have not provided updates on their conditions but indicated the injuries were non-life-threatening.
