
Prince George County, VA – A 26-year-old man from Chesterfield County has died following a fatal shooting early Thursday morning in Prince George County.
Authorities have since arrested a suspect in connection with the incident.
At approximately 12:19 a.m. on February 27, officers with the Prince George County Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 5000 block of Owens Way.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The victim was identified as D’Mond Taylor, 26, of Chesterfield County.
Following an investigation, authorities identified a suspect in connection with the shooting.
At approximately 6 a.m., officers located and arrested 24-year-old Charles Young IV of Petersburg.
Young has been formally charged with:
Second-degree murder
Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
He is currently being held at the Chesterfield County Jail.
Law enforcement officials have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the Prince George County community.
