
BEAUMONT, TX – The Beaumont Police Department is investigating the death of 24-year-old Deshawndrey Bowman, who was fatally shot on Friday evening, January 24, 2025. This marks the city’s second homicide of the year. Bowman succumbed to his injuries early Monday morning at CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital.
The shooting occurred near the intersection of Brooklyn and Madison around 6:44 p.m. Officers responding to reports of gunfire discovered Bowman inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel transported him to the hospital in critical condition. Despite extensive medical efforts, Bowman passed away on January 27.
Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. has ordered an autopsy to confirm the cause of death. Investigators are actively working to piece together the events leading up to the shooting. At this time, police have not disclosed details about possible suspects or motives.
