
DALLAS, TX – Authorities are actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred Tuesday afternoon at Wilmer-Hutchins High School, located in the 5500 block of Langdon Road in southern Dallas.
According to the Dallas Independent School District (DISD), a shooting took place on campus shortly after 1:00 p.m. Dallas Police and Dallas ISD Police immediately responded to the scene.
A large emergency response remains active, with numerous police units, firefighters, and ambulance crews surrounding the campus.
Local sources confirm that at least three individuals were shot.
Two of the victims reportedly sustained gunshot wounds to the leg. All injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
Initial radio communications from the scene indicated that a Black male suspect, wearing a red shirt under a hoodie, fled through a rear exit following the shooting, which is believed to have occurred in the school library.
Law enforcement officers are currently in the process of clearing the building to ensure there are no further threats and to account for all individuals.
Students have been safely evacuated and were seen being led through the school’s parking lot to designated safe areas.
Images from the scene show a significant law enforcement presence and several students exiting the building in an orderly manner.
Authorities have urged parents and community members to refrain from coming to the campus as the situation remains active.
The identity of the suspect and a possible motive have not yet been confirmed.
