
ALBANY, GA – A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder after a tragic shooting inside a residence on Holloway Avenue claimed the life of a woman on Wednesday, January 22.
The Albany Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 7 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found 33-year-old Chelsea Milledge with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel rushed her to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where she underwent surgery. Despite efforts to save her life, Milledge passed away from her injuries on Thursday morning.
Authorities identified and arrested Eugene Barber, 21, as the suspect in the shooting. Barber was located and taken into custody shortly after the incident. Police confirmed that multiple children were inside the home during the shooting but were unharmed.
