
WOODBRIDGE, VA — A domestic dispute turned deadly on the evening of November 27, leaving a 20-year-old woman dead and a man in custody. Officers from the Prince William County Police Department responded to a 911 call at approximately 8:50 p.m. in the 13500 block of Delaney Road, where the caller reported a family altercation and gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a man attempting to leave the residence. He was identified as 20-year-old Anthony White Jr. and was detained without incident.
Inside the home, officers found 20-year-old Rhemidee Iyeshala Barnes suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Police administered aid until emergency medical personnel arrived and transported her to a nearby hospital. Sadly, Barnes succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
The investigation revealed that a physical altercation between White and Barnes escalated when White retrieved a firearm and shot Barnes.
White has been charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and domestic assault and battery. He is being held without bond at the Prince William County Adult Detention Center. His court date is pending.
