KEY LARGO, FL — A 56-year-old woman lost her life during a diving accident off the coast of Key Largo on Tuesday morning. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the incident occurred near Molasses Reef, a well-known diving destination in the Florida Keys.
The victim, identified as Andrea Shultz of Tallahassee, was diving shortly after 10 a.m. when she suddenly lost consciousness in the water. Witnesses nearby immediately called for help, and rescuers worked quickly to bring Shultz back to shore. Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Adam Linhardt reported that emergency measures were initiated as soon as Shultz was pulled from the water.
