
TORONTO, ON — Toronto police have identified Alisha Brooks, 34, as the victim of a fatal shooting on Sunday evening near Danforth and Jones avenues. Brooks, a Toronto resident, was found with gunshot wounds after officers responded to reports of a shooting around 6:56 p.m. on December 8 in the area of Jones Avenue and Hunter Street, south of Danforth.
Emergency responders transported Brooks to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. A man was taken into custody at the scene, and police recovered a firearm believed to be connected to the incident.
In a press release issued Monday afternoon, authorities announced that Aaron Shea, 33, also from Toronto, has been charged with first-degree murder in relation to the shooting.
