St. Louis County, MO – A 26-year-old mother has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies after authorities uncovered horrifying abuse inflicted on her five-year-old child. The case has shocked the community, as details of extreme mistreatment continue to emerge.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office formally charged Alease Chambers on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She faces multiple charges, including Abuse or Neglect of a Child – Serious Emotional or Physical Injury, First-Degree Kidnapping, and Additional Counts of Child Abuse or Neglect. The investigation began a day earlier when a concerned friend reported disturbing incidents to police.
According to the witness, she had stayed overnight at Chambers’ residence and saw the young victim enduring severe punishments. She described seeing Chambers strike the child’s knuckles with a cellphone while forcing him to hold his fists clenched. The child was also made to perform painful wall squats for extended periods, reportedly beyond what would be required in military training. Around 3:00 a.m., the friend was awakened by the child’s desperate screams coming from downstairs.
The next morning, when she asked Chambers where the child was, she was told he was downstairs. Upon checking, the friend was horrified to find the boy zip-tied with his hands behind his back, his pants pulled down, and his body covered in bruises. She immediately recorded the scene on video and contacted authorities. Investigators later discovered that the child had also been locked in a closet overnight, with the door barricaded by a dresser to prevent him from escaping.
The victim’s siblings confirmed to police that Chambers frequently abused the five-year-old. They revealed she had a pattern of beating him with belts, cords, and hangers while forcing him to stay in the closet for long periods. Medical evaluations also showed that the child was malnourished, prompting his hospitalization for further care. During questioning, Chambers admitted to restraining her son with belts, cords, and zip ties, claiming it was punishment for sneaking food. She confessed to keeping him tied up for at least two to three hours.
Chambers has been taken into custody and is being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond, with no option for 10% payment. Authorities continue to investigate, and they urge anyone with additional information to contact local law enforcement. The case has sparked outrage, with child advocates calling for justice and stronger protections for vulnerable children.
