
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a man in Montgomery that occurred late Friday evening.
The victim has been identified as Travis Jackson, 36, a resident of Montgomery, according to the Montgomery Police Department.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of Hale Street at approximately 8:49 p.m. on Friday, April 11.
Upon arrival, officers and fire medics located Jackson suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to Police Sgt. Tina McGriff.
As of Monday, investigators have not officially classified the death as a homicide, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
