
Baton Rouge Police Department has confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that claimed the life of an 80-year-old man earlier this week.
According to BRPD officials, 39-year-old Daniel Westley was taken into custody on Friday, April 4, and is facing a charge of first-degree murder in the shooting death of James Williams.
Williams, affectionately known in the community as “Uncle Pig,” was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound on the evening of Tuesday, April 1.
Authorities located him on the front porch of his residence in the 1900 block of Avenue E.
Police have not yet released details regarding a potential motive or the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
